Mother Detained in Russia After Allegedly Plotting to Harm Her 12-Year-Old Daughter Amid Family Disputes

A mother in Russia has been detained after allegedly attempting to arrange harm against her 12-year-old daughter.

According to law enforcement, the woman, identified only as Svetlana, 46, reportedly offered a male acquaintance around £930 to drown the child in a local river in the Chelyabinsk region.

Unbeknownst to Svetlana, her daughter overheard the disturbing conversation from behind a door.

Authorities say the mother cited ongoing conflicts and difficulties in her relationship with her daughter as the motive behind the alleged plot.
