California Teen Takes Silent Stand on Podium After Finishing Behind Transgender Athlete

A high school track and field athlete in California quietly asserted her presence on the winner’s podium after placing second to a transgender competitor at a recent championship event.

Reese Hogan, a student at Crean Lutheran High School, competed in the CIF Southern Section Finals on Saturday, where she achieved a personal record and set a new school record in the triple jump.

Despite her impressive performance, she finished just over four feet behind AB Hernandez, a transgender athlete from Jurupa Valley High School.

Following the medal ceremony, a video shared on social media shows Hogan stepping onto the first-place podium spot after Hernandez exited.

The moment drew applause from spectators, with supporters online calling Hogan’s gesture a symbolic act of protest.
