The reason for the high number of sexual encounters at the Olympic Village has been disclosed by a former athlete.
Although it may seem strange to those on the outside, athletes really have a propensity to overindulge when they are isolated from the rest of the world for those two weeks of competition.
Despite the organization’s disapproval, condoms have been distributed to athletes at the start of every Olympic games since the 1980s to make sure they are safe during sexual activity.
Athletes, who are considered to be at the very top of their sport, devote their life to competing, which means they have very little time for socializing due to their very hectic (and perhaps ridiculous) training schedules throughout the year.
