After losing a High Court case over police protection, Meghan Markle may not be able to attend Prince Harry’s Invictus Games in Birmingham. The city, which just experienced its council’s bankruptcy, is hosting the event to celebrate winning a £26 million bid.

The announcement that Birmingham would host the Invictus Games in 2027 has sparked security concerns, which might prompt Meghan Markle to skip the event for the first time.

The athletic event for wounded, injured, and ill veterans and service members was started by the Duke of Sussex, who is now involved in a continuing dispute with the Home Office about security measures for his family while in the UK.

The High Court rejected Prince Harry’s appeal to the government’s decision to provide him with state-funded police protection in February. Harry resides in Montecito, California.

Prince Archie, who is five years old, and Princess Lilibet, who is three years old, were his children, and he had previously expressed his inability to put his wife ‘in danger like that’ by bringing them to Britain.

As a result of his family’s anxieties, Harry may feel compelled to attend the competition alone despite having been granted permission to travel to the Court of Appeal in May.
