Willem Dafoe was reportedly refused the opportunity to display his penis on screen by a well-liked director because it was too “enormous.”
Dafoe, 69, made his feature film debut in Michael Cimino’s Heaven’s Gate more than 40 years ago.
The legend has since starred in several Wes Anderson productions, played Vulko in the DC Extended Universe, and most recently made an appearance in the anthology film Kinds of Kindness directed by Yorgos Lanthimos.
Dafoe has enjoyed stepping away from blockbusters over the years, appearing in a number of arthouse films including Antichrist directed by Lars von Trier.
In the 2009 film, the single father played a married man without a name who was only given the credit “he,” next to Charlotte Gainsbourg’s “She.”
