You would expect to make a ton of money from a job like hosting the Olympic Games, right?

Canadian singer Celine Dion’s breathtaking performance at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris didn’t earn her a dime.

In other words, one of the most famous musicians in the world couldn’t have made more money than the kids who were selling lemonade in your neighborhood on Friday, July 26.

The opening ceremonies of the Olympics took place over the weekend, and among the 590 athletes representing their country were basketball superstar LeBron James and tennis great Coco Gauff, who served as flag bearers for the United States.

As the event came to a close, Dion took the stage from the Eiffel Tower to play Edith Piaf’s “L’Hymne A L’Amour.” This was her first public performance since she came up about her struggle with “stiff person syndrome,” which led her to cancel her global tour.
