Jay Slater’s bereaved relatives have assembled to bid him farewell at his funeral. On June 17, the 19-year-old from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, United Kingdom, disappeared while vacationing with companions in Tenerife.
Nearly a month after his disappearance, Slater’s remains were discovered in a ravine on July 15, having tumbled to his death, following weeks of an intense and arduous search mission.
Human remains were discovered in the highlands near the village of Masca by officials. This location was a mere 20-minute walk from the last location where his phone had been detected on the Spanish island.
On Saturday (August 10), a funeral was conducted for the late boy in Accrington, Lancashire, by the bereaved family of Slater.
According to the BBC, the teenager, who was employed as an apprentice bricklayer, was regarded as a “cherished brother” and “loving son” by his family. He had a passion for football and music.
