Mariah Carey is experiencing double the sorrow as TMZ has learned that her sister Alison and mother Patricia passed away on the same day over the weekend.
The singer told TMZ in a statement, “I lost my mother this past weekend, and it devastated my heart. Unfortunately, my sister passed away on the same day due
to a terrible turn of circumstances.” Mariah said, “I feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed.”
The note was wrapped: “I appreciate everyone’s love and support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time.” The exact reasons of Patricia and Alison’s deaths remain unknown at this time.
