An assault near the Leicestershire house of an 80-year-old man who was walking his dog resulted in his death, leading to the arrest of five juveniles under the age of fifteen.
Five persons, including a boy and a girl who are all 14 years old and a boy and two girls who are all 12 years old, have been detained on suspicion of murder,
according to Leicestershire Police. Police said that “they are currently being interviewed by police”; the identities of the individuals have not yet been made public.
The BBC has identified the culprit as Bhim Kohl, who was “seriously assaulted” on Sunday night in Franklin Park and passed away from his wounds at a local hospital.
“The attack happened around 6.30pm, close to the park entrance in Bramble Way,” police said. “A gang of young
individuals are said to have badly attacked the victim, who was walking his dog. Before rescue personnel could arrive, they fled the site.”
