After selling her Tesla, Bette Midler is bursting with happiness.
“What a happy day!” The diva shared on Bluesky and Instagram. “I (gulp) sold my Tesla!”
Despite being well-known for her support of the environment, Midler welcomed giving up the electric car, claiming that because of its connection to CEO Elon Musk, Tesla is “a symbol of racism, greed, and ignorance.”
Protesters have targeted Tesla items since January 20 due to Musk’s wealthy political engagement in the US and his far-right rhetoric globally. Before participating in attempts to reduce federal programs and government employment, President Donald Trump’s “first buddy” spent about $3 billion to restore the president and his supporters to power.
