The defendants threw objects at officers and then ran east on 42nd Street, according to the police. There were no reported injuries.
The NYPD has asked the public for help in identifying three more suspects that they are still looking for.
All of the suspects, according to officials, are known to the police and have been connected to dozens of other robberies since 2022. They have consistently been reintegrated into society despite being arrested multiple times.
Tisch was worried that the City Council’s attempts to do away with the gang database may make it more difficult to conduct investigations in the future.
“Our City Council is looking to abolish this, which is completely counter to common sense,” she remarked.
More arrests are anticipated in the days ahead, according to authorities.
