A 23-year-old beauty influencer was shot dead during a TikTok video in her own salon.

The stream continued for a while. After momentarily revealing their face on camera, a person grabbed her phone to end the video.

According to the prosecutor’s office, Marquez was shot and killed by a man.

The shooter pretended to be bringing a “expensive gift,” according to local media reports. Marquez had already stated on the stream that she wasn’t going to wait for them to return.

The case is being investigated as a femicide, which is the killing of a woman because of her gender, although authorities have not yet named a suspect.

Following 911 calls, police and forensic specialists arrived on the scene, verified Marquez’s passing, and took her remains away for an autopsy and formal family identification.
