Kenigsberg filed a lawsuit as building went on, requesting that the property be destroyed and the deed transfer reversed. He filed nine lawsuits against the developer, and while the case was being handled, the house’s construction was put on hold.
The lawsuit also identified the transaction’s lawyer, Anthony Monelli, for allegedly neglecting to confirm the validity of the power of attorney used in the sale.
The doctor’s attorney told CT Insider, “It appears that someone from South Africa contacted the broker and possibly Attorney Monelli.” “It seems that scammers are engaging in this type of activity all over the nation.”
The lawsuit claimed that Monelli and 51 Sky Top Partners LLC “knew or should have caught the forgery,” even though they were not charged with planning the scam.
Fairfield Police initially looked into the issue, which was then turned over to the FBI, where it is allegedly still pending.
Following almost a year of legal battles, Dr. Kenigsberg consented to a private settlement in April 2024. According to insiders, he did get a compensation, even though the precise details were not made public.
