After a guy reportedly eats $769,000 in diamond earrings during a jewelry theft, police are compelled to search the suspect’s bowels for proof.

Following the arrest of a suspect in a jewelry robbery case last month, police made a somewhat somber find.

Jaythan Lawrence Gilder, 32, was caught by police in a fairly strange event for what they perceive to be a rather blatant attempt at a $100,000 theft.

The suspected burglar allegedly entered a Tiffany & Co. shop in Orlando by pretending to be an NBA player’s agent in order to get the expensive jewelry.

Gilder reportedly ran for the door after grabbing anything he could get his hands on, according to the police. Gilder then allegedly pushed his way out of the shop with $769,500 worth of earrings,

Including a set of 8.19 carat diamond earrings valued at $609,500 and a pair of 4.86 carat diamond earrings for $160,000, according to Orlando police.
