After stealing a truck and smashing it at a neighbor’s house, the bandit fled back to his neighborhood and locked himself inside his house.
According to the Daily Mail, after police officers told Rojas he wouldn’t drop his pistol, he was shot several times through a glass door, striking him in the hand, thigh, and stomach.
After being found guilty of two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, attempted first-degree murder, attempted manslaughter, grand theft auto, and escape, a smug and smiling Rojas was given a life sentence.
He received the maximum prison term possible from Circuit Judge James Daniel for each of the offenses he committed. As a result, Rojas was given three 15-year terms in addition to life in prison for the lesser counts.
