Musk’s political career didn’t end peacefully; there was a price to pay. The stock of Tesla fell. There were protests. Lawsuits were piling up. Despite a $25 million campaign by Musk’s PAC, a judicial candidate he backed lost a crucial race.
He told Ars Technica, “I think I probably did spend a bit too much time on politics.” Additionally, he informed The Washington Post that DOGE was now held accountable for any White House mishap as a “whipping boy.”
Musk now claims that he is completely cutting back on his political spending. He stated during a forum in Qatar, “I believe I’ve done enough.”
The New York Times claims that despite his promise to donate $100 million to Trump-aligned organizations for the 2026 midterm elections, the funds have not yet been delivered.
Trump’s Bill and Its Implications
In addition to eliminating Biden’s clean energy subsidies and implementing extensive Medicaid reforms, including as more regular eligibility checks and stricter work requirements, the “One Big Beautiful Bill” also includes $5 trillion in tax cuts.
