Before I began making this video, I was feeling really depressed. She acknowledged, “I was really struggling to figure out how I was going to star in a movie while I had this going on.”
Thankfully, things started to get better. Cushing syndrome “just has to work itself out,” Schumer explained, and she gave director Lorraine Caffery credit for making her feel better. Schumer recovered after Caffery told her, “You know, I think you look f***ing great.”
She went on to say, “I only needed one person to really get me going.”
Schumer discussed her difficult experience with well-known weight-loss medications in addition to Cushing condition.
She acknowledged taking Ozempic, a diabetes drug that is now often used to control weight, on The Howard Stern Show, but said it left her in poor health.
“I was bedridden when I tried Ozempic about three years ago,” she remarked. “You have little energy after vomiting, I thought. However, other people accept it, and everything is well.
Schumer was unfazed and tried similar substances again. She just mentioned in an Instagram video that she’s enjoying Mounjaro more this time.
“I tried Wegovy three years ago,” she said. “I couldn’t take it, and I was throwing up.” I’m not sure if the formula has changed or not.
She continued by talking about how the online midlife clinic Midi Health referred her to virtual health and disclosed that she had also been administered progesterone and estrogen to treat perimenopausal symptoms.
She remarked, “So that’s been great and Mounjaro’s been great.”
She laughed, “Which most of the internet thinks I have, but I’m having a really good experience with it,” despite acknowledging that Mounjaro isn’t fully covered by insurance in the United States unless you have diabetes or extreme obesity.
“I wanted to tell you the truth about that.”
