“About six or seven years ago we started talking about the after life and heaven and I talked to him a little about cryogenics, and he told me he would like to do that,” she said in an interview with News.com.au.
“We would discuss the possibility that we might be resurrected in a far-off future where humans could fly, live on another planet, or swim underwater with dolphins and whales and breathe for extended periods of time.”
“The only solace I can find at the moment is that this must have been our purpose,” she continued.
The money raised will pay for medical, legal, and transportation expenses in addition to cryopreservation. In order to preserve Atreyu’s legacy, McCann also intends to create a trust in his name.
According to McCann, the tragedy started on February 7 when Atreyu transferred from homeschooling to South Sydney High School.
