Amid the escalating tariff battle, China appointed Li Chenggang as its new trade negotiator on Wednesday, potentially signaling a shift in strategy from Beijing.
In a heated response, President Trump criticized Xi Jinping’s regional trip, suggesting it was aimed at finding ways to “undermine the United States.”
Trump remained firm in his stance, stating, “RESTORE GREATNESS TO AMERICA!” On Truth Social, he praised his economic policies, noting that the U.S. is seeing record levels of tariffs, with prices of various products, including gasoline and groceries, going down. “Inflation is also declining. Promises Given, Promises Honored!” he said.
He added, “NOBODY is getting ‘off the hook’ for unfair trade balances,” especially China, which he described as the worst offender in terms of trade practices.
