Freedman claimed that Swift’s representatives responded to Lively’s ‘inappropriate and obviously extortionate threats in at least one formal correspondence’ issued to Gottlieb.
According to the letter, “[Baldoni’s team] is attempting to obtain those communications through subpoena, as they would demonstrate an attempt to coerce and intimidate a percipient witness in this litigation.”
Swift was drawn into the turbulent drama earlier this year when Baldoni filed a $400 million countersuit alleging Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds of defamation. Swift’s smash song “My Tears Ricochet” was included on the soundtrack of the 2024 movie It Ends With Us.
The shocking disclosure clarifies the breakdown of Lively and Swift’s friendship, which has cooled off in the midst of the actress’s ongoing legal dispute with Baldoni.
