Swift was brought into the controversy earlier this year when Baldoni filed a countersuit against Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds, alleging slander. Swift was photographed with Blake in January 2024.
The chats on the phone between Abel and crisis PR Melissa Nathan were then used as the foundation for Lively’s claims of a smear campaign, while Baldoni’s team struck back stating the texts were selectively edited and disclosed the conversations in full.
Jones denied turning over the texts as a favor, claiming in court documents that she did not turn over the device until she received a subpoena last October.
However, her claims caused Lively to further embarrass herself when DailyMail.com revealed the subpoena was related to a “sham” lawsuit against anonymous Does 1-10 that was dropped before the 37-year-old’s sex assault case was filed.
Bryan Freedman, Baldoni’s attorney, responded angrily to the news, calling the Vanzan suit a “sham.”
Freedman said in a statement that “Ms. Lively’s and Mr. Reynolds’ company Vanzan had nothing to do with this case and they knew it.”
