“I’ve learned so much from Justin,” Hailey reflected. “He’s been doing this literally since he was a child and he has had to face the most scrutiny of any person that I know. He was like, ‘Baby, trust me, I’ve been here before many, many times. You’re not going to win. There is no winning.'” A telling statement that echoes the frustration many feel dealing with healthcare systems, malpractice insurance policies, and financial planning for new parents.
Although she tries to shut out the noise, she admitted that the incessant rumors can be “such a mindf–k.” These emotional triggers are common in those recovering from pregnancy complications or managing postnatal depression under chronic care management programs.
Now, as she navigates life in the spotlight postpartum, Hailey has been more focused on connecting with herself emotionally.
“I cry a lot more than I did before,” she explained, adding that she’s allowing herself to be more vulnerable “to feel what I’m feeling and be not okay, and be able to just really express that and feel safe with my friends to just be like, ‘I’m losing it today.'” Such vulnerability speaks volumes about the need for accessible mental health services, especially those covered by comprehensive wellness insurance plans.
