A former corrections officer has been convicted of sexually assaulting an inmate he was assigned to transport to a medical facility.
Rather than imposing immediate incarceration, the judge overseeing the case presented the defendant with two alternative sentences.
Brandon Scott Price, 28, was working as a guard at Franklin County Regional Jail in Kentucky when he was directed to take a female inmate to a local hospital for treatment of dangerously high blood pressure.
After his shift ended, Price remained with the woman at Frankfort Regional Medical Center for five hours, during which he reportedly made inappropriate advances and referenced his connections with parole officials in what appeared to be an effort to influence the inmate.
