Mark Zuckerberg Warns Users Not To Take Screenshots On Facebook Messenger

Mark Zuckerberg advises users not to take screenshots of their conversations unless they want to be caught doing so.

Messenger users may now get alerts if someone else takes a picture of their discussion, according to Facebook’s creator and CEO.

In January 2022, Zuckerberg posted on Facebook, “New update for end-to-end encrypted Messenger chats so you get a notification if someone screenshots a disappearing message.”

The statement came after Facebook Messenger underwent yet another big overhaul that made communications disappear.

These allow users to transmit messages that instantly vanish from the screen and are currently available on some competing social media platforms (such as Snapchat).

The Independent claims that Facebook users in the US are already able to access the feature, and it is expected that users in Europe will soon be able to do the same.

Screenshot notifications have been available on Snapchat for a while, and the app has been used extensively there for several years.
