Mom Demands Answers After an Armed Carjacker Died While Running From the Police: “He Was Not A Criminal”

According to authorities, a carjacking suspect was killed when he and two other people were escaping from a police vehicle. Dion Lamar Taylor, 20, who resided a block away from the scene of the incident, was identified as the deceased suspect.

Teisha Cook discussed the event with 11 News, recalling the moment she learned that her son had been killed a block away from her home by a Baltimore County police cruiser. She stated: “I was going around trying to find my kid the entire time, not realizing he was underneath the car, and I couldn’t find them. I called and texted him, but he didn’t respond. Up here, my son was running down the street when cops arrived from this direction. One of them collided with him and then ran him down.

Just before 4 p.m., Taylor and two other suspects allegedly carjacked a pizza delivery guy in Woodlawn’s 3400 block of Merle Drive. Soon after the car was spotted by police, a pursuit started in Baltimore County at Essex and Liberty roads and terminated at Northern Parkway and Highgate Drive.
