I was crying again before I realized it, but this time I was crying because I felt so happy. Mason was beaming like he had just pulled off the most spectacular surprise ever as I ran upstairs.
He shrugged and said, “I heard Mom on the phone this morning,” “I knew that it wasn’t fair at all.”
He apparently decided to take matters into his own hands after overhearing Carla cancel my hair appointment.
“But did you really use your money?” Still feeling bad about him spending his money, I asked.
“Not really,” he said with a giggle. You see, Mom has been putting money aside to purchase a high-end diamond necklace. In the hopes that he would buy her the necklace, she had been displaying it to her father. However, he declined.
