According to Kornegay, she never imagined that the family would have experienced such a tragedy. “I never would have guessed that. Kornegay said,
“I never would have imagined he would do something like that.” Wilson County jail is holding Da’ron Jenkins without bail. He appeared in court for the first time on Tuesday.
Da’ron Jenkins had just been released from jail last week on other charges prior to the event, according to court filings.
“That was painful. I’m still not over that, and it really affected me,” Kornegay said. “It’s going to take a while.”
Additionally, a local church was honoring Dana Jenkins and Daryn, whose members claimed to be actively committed in their community.
“Just joyful,” Wilson’s Mount Moriah Community Church Bishop Sherman Blandon stated. “They had contagious grins. A room would be illuminated by both of them.
