In July 2021, Burnette began experiencing what she described as “unbearable” hip pain.
Initial diagnoses suggested early-onset arthritis, but further testing revealed something far more serious: multifocal avascular necrosis (AVN).
A condition in which blood supply to bones is cut off, causing the tissue to die. Her first hip replacement surgery took place in December 2021, followed by a second one in 2022.
