The Duchess of Sussex turned to Instagram to post a poignant snapshot of her son on his sixth birthday, catching the little royal in a sun-drenched moment that’s already pulling at the internet’s heartstrings.
But while Archie spent the big day with mom, Meghan, and younger sister Lilibet, his dad, Prince Harry, was curiously absent.
As the sun sets behind him, Archie can be seen looking out at the sea while leaning against a barrier wearing striped clothing in this nicely crafted photo. The picture appears almost ethereal due to the gentle, luminous halo effect that surrounds his head.
Meghan kept her message simple but poetic, writing: “Our son. Our sun. Archie, happy sixth birthday! We appreciate all of your well wishes, prayers, and love for our darling child. He is six years old! What happened to the time?
