Trump’s announcement that he would pardon reality stars Todd and Julie Chrisley after their convictions and incarcerations for bank fraud and tax evasion in 2022 has garnered special attention amid a flurry of white-collar pardons.
Joy Behar discussed Trump’s pardoning of reality stars Todd and Julie Chrisley on Wednesday’s episode of The View. “According to this administration, if you are a reality star with a lot of money, and a tax cheat, and you commit fraud, then that’s good,” Behar said.
The Chrisley Knows Best cast members have insisted on their innocence despite their 2022 conviction for bank fraud and tax evasion. Originally given 12 and 7 years in 2023, respectively, Todd and Julie’s sentences were later lowered to 10 and 5 years before Trump completely revoked them this week.
The decision, which Behar was furious about, is one of several recent pardons for conservatives convicted of financial crimes. Former Virginia sheriff Scott Jenkins, who was found guilty on federal fraud and bribery charges in 2024, was pardoned on Tuesday.
Paul Walczak, a former nursing facility CEO who was convicted of tax offenses and whose mother was present at Trump’s recent $1 million-per-person fundraising event at Mar-a-Lago, was pardoned by Trump in April.
