Psychedelics Helped Depressed Medical Professionals

The COVID-19 epidemic wasn’t that awful, according to many individuals. Or that they’re so deep down the far-right conspiracy theory rabbit hole that it was “fake.”

I would want to recommend those individuals to psilocybin treatment, since it is the sole means of relief for the many frontline healthcare professionals who continue to battle depression, PTSD, and burnout.

A clinical investigation involving 30 healthcare professionals was carried out by researchers from the University of Washington and published in JAMA Network Open.

A single 25 mg psilocybin dosage session was given to physicians and nurses who had been on the front lines of the epidemic for at least a month and were suffering from significant depressive symptoms.

Three therapy sessions were then held to assist participants in processing their trauma. A placebo consisting of 100 mg of niacin, often known as vitamin B3, was given to the control group.

Why niacin? People who get a simple shot of vitamin B3 at that high of a dosage have side symptoms including tingling skin and a racing heart.
