A terrifying simulation describes how an adolescent survived a 10,000-foot drop after being hit by lightning on an aircraft.

After describing how a youngster became the only survivor of a terrible aircraft disaster, a horrifying simulation has received thousands of views.

Unfazed by the heavy clouds gathering outside, 17-year-old Juliane Koepcke sat at the window on LANSA Flight 508 on Christmas Eve, 1971. Her life was permanently altered a few minutes later.

According to The Washington Post, a lightning strike caused the plane to crash, shattering in midair and leaving her alone, tied to her seat, as it raced into the Amazon jungle.

The 10,000-foot drop was amazingly avoided by Koepcke. She endured the Amazon rainforest for 11 days, ill and alone, before being rescued, but her struggle to survival was just getting started.

After YouTuber Zack D. Films created a simulation of Koepcke’s ordeal, her narrative of perseverance became one of the most incredible survival stories in history, reaching a whole new generation:
