Authorities have referred to the unfortunate death of a lady on a New York City subway train Sunday morning as a “brutal murder” and an act of “depraved behavior” after a man lit her garments on fire.

Around 7:30 AM, a F train headed for Brooklyn’s Stillwell Avenue was attacked. According to police, the suspect—a Guatemalan immigrant.

Whose identity has not been made public—came up to the victim silently, set her clothes on fire, and then watched as she was consumed by flames.

The victim, who has also not been named, was “motionless” when the attacker started the assault, according to the NYPD, CNN reported.

According to reports, the guy is seen quietly watching police officers react while sitting on a station bench on surveillance video.
