Luigi Mangione enters a not guilty plea to the charge of killing the CEO of UnitedHealthcare.

After being charged with state murder and murder as an act of terrorism, the 26-year-old man who is suspected of murdering Brian Thompson, the CEO of United Healthcare, has pleaded not guilty.

After a worldwide search, Thompson, 50, was shot dead in New York City on December 4; Luigi Mangione was taken into custody.

Mangione renounced his right to appeal extradition from Pennsylvania to New York, and today’s (December 23).

Hearing was his first chance to officially respond to the charges against him by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

The Manhattan district attorney officially accused him last Monday with many murder charges, including murder as an act of terrorism.

A report released by PA states that Mangione will face trials at both the state and federal levels, with the two proceedings proceeding concurrently.
