After an illegal immigrant from Guatemala is accused of murdering a homeless straphanger on a Brooklyn subway vehicle on December 22, the Guardian Angels will once again police the city’s subway system.
According to the Post, Curtis Sliwa, the leader of the all-volunteer squad, gave a speech at the Brooklyn station at Stillwell Avenue-Coney Island,
Where the lady was slain and where the group’s patrol would begin. Now, Sliwa added, three-person patrols will once again go through the tube vehicles,
“something the police no longer do.” He said that since “the subways are out of control,” “hundreds of citizens” had asked for the organization’s reinstatement.

The gang, which presently numbers 150, was last seen patrolling tube trains in 2020 amid anti-Asian hate crimes.
