A man who had been receiving chemotherapy for nine years was devastated to learn that he had never had cancer.

Prior to Olson’s diagnosis, Weiner requested two bone marrow samples, but only one of them revealed MDS. Ten months after the first was conducted, the second test yielded a clear result.

Olson continued to get therapy for nine years even though the second biopsy revealed no signs of MDS remaining. According to reports, Weiner advised him to disregard the findings of the second biopsy,

Stating that they were an indication that the therapy was effective and that he should proceed. Weiner said, “That doesn’t mean you didn’t have the disease,”

When ProPublic questioned him about the unfavourable findings. It just indicates that it was knocked away by the therapy. It doesn’t imply that you didn’t have it initially.

However, when the hospital retested the first sample in the ensuing years, it was discovered that Olson had never had MDS in the first place.

The guy’s abuse didn’t become apparent until 2016, when Dr. Robert LaClair, a renal specialist overseeing Olson’s dialysis, discovered that the man had a “iron overload.”
