A woman is killed after being burned alive on a New York City subway while she was allegedly sleeping.

According to reports, the girl sat “motionless” when she was set on fire. Investigators are attempting to ascertain whether or not she was sleeping at the time of the assault.

The victim and the attacker had not communicated before the incident. The two are not thought to have known one another by the police.

Upper-level officers discovered the event after smelling and seeing smoke. They arrived to the train and saw a passenger “fully engulfed in flames” standing inside.

The accused attacker disembarked from the train as police raced to the flames. He didn’t travel very far. Tisch said,

“The suspect had remained on the scene and was sitting on a bench on the platform just outside the train car, which the responding officers were unaware of.” Because of this, police were able.
