According to the final report of the House Ethics Committee’s investigation into former Representative Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., he committed a number of acts that violated.
House Rules and several that would have been considered state crimes. Following a protracted inquiry, the committee published its 42-page report Monday morning.
According to the report, “the Committee found ample evidence that Representative Gaetz violated House Rules and other standards of conduct.
That forbid prostitution, statutory rape, illicit drug use, prohibited gifts, special favors or privileges, and obstruction of Congress.”
Gaetz has denied any impropriety on several occasions, and he denied paying for sex in a series of postings on X on Monday.
According to the committee’s findings, he “routinely ignored or significantly delayed producing relevant information requested” and failed to comply with its probe.
