The organizers of the games released a statement expressing their deepest condolences for Lazar Dukic’s demise. All of Lazar’s loved ones and athletic peers are in our thoughts and prayers.

Almost everyone who knew him considered him a brother, a friend, and a son. Lazar was the life of the party no matter
where he went because he was fiercely competitive, inconsolably happy, and unusually generous. He will be irreplaceable if his light goes out.
