After Lazar Dukic vanished beneath the sea during a CrossFit Games event in Texas, the organization confirmed his death.

Additionally, he said that there was a “fully documented safety plan” and that there were safety professionals present at the event the whole time.

A GoFundMe page established to assist Dukic’s family has garnered $264,425 out of an initial goal of $200,000.

After his brother Luka introduced Dukic to CrossFit in 2020, the fundraising website states that Dukic made his debut in 2021.

Dukic was named the third-best CrossFit athlete in Serbia for the year by the CrossFit website. In the male division, he is rated 88th globally as well. Dukic has expressed his desire to finish on the podium this year.

The CrossFit Games are a yearly athletic competition where competitors take part in a wide range of activities, such as strength training, swimming, cycling, and conditioning.

At the Paris Olympics, Algerian boxer Imane Khelif took home the gold medal.
