Tomlinson was’really struggling with the concept of saying goodbye’, he revealed in a separate heartfelt tribute.
On his Instagram page, he shared a photo of the two of them performing, with Payne tenderly placing his arm over Tomlinson’s shoulder.
If Payne’s kid Bear “ever needs me,” Tomlinson added, he would be an uncle and “tell him stories of how amazing his dad was.”
“Talking on the phone for hours and remembering all the thousands of incredible moments we shared together is a luxury I thought I’d have with you for life,” he said. “I’m so grateful that we got even closer since the band.”
