In which he maintained “the biological definition of ‘woman’ based on gamete type”—that is, reproductive cells.
After receiving criticism, FFRF subsequently removed the item and issued a long statement expressing regret for the “distress” it had caused. Co-presidents Dan Barker and Annie Laurie Gaylor commented,
“Mistakes can happen despite our best efforts to champion reason and equality, and this incident is a reminder of the importance of constant reflection and growth.”
