Despite having a very unusual aging illness, Beandri Booysen, a young girl who exuded an unquestionable “hope and joy” for life, died a few days before Christmas. Her age was 19.
Beandri was diagnosed with Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome, commonly known as progeria, at the age of seven months.
Because of her disease, she ages eight times faster than the usual person, and it was not anticipated that she would survive beyond the age of fourteen.
However, over her almost two decades of life, countless of people were moved by her touching social media posts.
Her mother, Bea Booysene, verified the news on her daughter’s “In Loving Memory of Beandri Booysen” Facebook page on Wednesday, December 18.
