Why Stroud was so outraged about the play is understandable. Jared Wayne, who also shown emotion after the injury, is comparable.
In only his second NFL game, second-year receiver Wayne was attempting to make a play on Stroud’s ball to the end zone when he collided with Dell.
He was shown on a knee, his face flushed, while his comrades consoled him. As a gesture of solidarity, several other Texans gathered around Dell as he was being cared for.
Before Dell was carried off the field, Will Anderson seemed to lead his teammates in a prayer. In the Texans’ locker room, Nico Collins discussed Dell’s injury with media.
“It just hurt” to see Dell get wounded, Collins said, and he gave his friend credit for his enthusiasm on the field.
“He’s one of my brothers man,” Collins said of Dell. “He adds that juice and that enthusiasm. When we’re feeling down, [he] provides the vigor we all need.
