Christopher Amoroso’s valiant account of 9/11

 

On a rotation, Christopher visited the World Trade Center on September 11, and he loved his work. He had the option of going to Newark Airport, but destiny had other ideas.

Shortly before the second plane struck, Christopher and his coworkers took the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown to the Twin Towers.

He returned to the buildings after saving a lady who had a large welt beneath his eye. He continued going back to the towers at 29, even though he had a wife and kid at home.

He was covered in blood, and his lungs were filled with smoke. had the option to quit but chose not to. Duty and compassion kept him going even though he had gone much beyond what was asked.

After this picture was shot, Christopher stayed still. It took three agonizing months for his remains to be recovered from Ground Zero. His daughter, Sophia Rose, and wife, Jamie, had to make do without him.
