“The President-elect has been receiving heightened Secret Service protection, and this level of security will be maintained going forward,” US Secret Service Chief of Communications Anthony Guglielmi told Newsweek.
“The President-elect’s family members and executive staff may also be granted protection under federal law, although we are unable to disclose specifics to maintain the integrity of our operations.”
“Enhanced security measures around Palm Beach County, Florida, and New York City are also being coordinated,” Guglielmi said in closing.
In these cities, the Secret Service is dedicated to collaborating with neighborhood partners to alert the public of any possible effects.
According to Paul Eckloff, a former Secret Service agent who worked with George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Donald Trump, and their families, a president’s kid is a “soft target,” as the military and law enforcement community refer to it, he told Newsweek.
In other words, “they are seen as having less protection, which leaves them exposed and also makes the environment dangerous for those around them.”
Barron may be “sitting in a student union — just as a hypothetical — and he may look alone, but he will not be alone,” according to Eckloff.
You will see [Secret Service agents] dressed as students in the finest conceivable attire. Barron will probably remain at Trump Tower when his father is president.
