“We chose to put up the billboard as a direct challenge to the Freedom From Religion Foundation’s annual Winter Solstice display in Madison, Wisconsin, which is set up in the Capitol building,” Donohue said.
The purpose of their prank is to undermine the significance of the Nativity scene at Christmas by competing with it. The billboard will remain in place until December 29th, which is two weeks.
“Our billboard emboldens Catholics, letting them know that we will not be bullied by our adversaries,” the president said.
“We have chosen to send these activists a lesson, reminding them that the Christmas season is our season,” the Catholic League said on their website. We are in charge. They are defeated.
