Kid Rock and Shelton’s Red States-only tour, in contrast to the typical concert tour, attempts to
remove what they refer to as “the layers of political correctness”.
That have engulfed the entertainment business in recent years. There are only two performers prepared to do an old-fashioned concert.
That honors what they refer to as “American values”—no catchphrases about protecting the environment or public service announcements about diversity.
With enormous American flags, military-style lighting effects, and fanfare that transports viewers to “a simpler time,” the organizers have hinted to a “patriotic stage setup.”
The tour’s concept is also reflected in the retail assortment, which includes phrases like “Unapologetically American” and “Keep It Real, Keep It Country.”
Shelton said, “We’re here to have a great time with people who get it, not to make a political statement.”
“All we want is for people to unwind, enjoy themselves, and enjoy the music.” We know that our followers will support us in accomplishing this the way we want to.
