Legendary wrestler Rey Misterio Sr. passes away unexpectedly at age 66.

Rey Misterio Sr., one of the greats of wrestling, died tragically at the age of 66, leaving the wrestling community in sadness.

On Friday, December 20, his son, who is referred to in the industry as El Hijo de Rey Misterio, posted the news on Facebook with much emotion.

“Families and friends, I regret to notify you of the passing this morning of my father, Miguel Ángel López Días,

Rey Misterio Sr. I’ll update you. I’m grateful,” the statement said. It did not reveal the reason of death when it was first posted in Spanish.

The renowned luchador’s death was also verified by Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, a significant Mexican wrestling promoter, in a social media post honoring his lasting contribution to the sport.
