The FBI has said that there are currently no public safety concerns. “Although the FBI has not yet determined the gunman’s motivation, they are actively gathering and analyzing evidence,
interviewing witnesses, and following up on all leads in order to establish what happened and how the shooter moved before the attack. The shooter’s phone has also been confiscated for further investigation.
In their pursuit of more proof, FBI investigators have examined Crooks’ home and car. Bomb specialists have neutralized the explosives at both sites, and the FBI Laboratory is now analyzing them.
According to the FBI, Crooks was “not known to them prior to this incident,” and the AR-style weapon used in the incident was “purchased legally.”
